Marla Brown Watercolors


Marla Brown resides in the remote mountain community of Valley of Enchantment, at Crestline, in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California. Here, and the adjoining High Desert scenery manifests her inspiration in her renown watercolors.

Her unique style, a watercolor technique of "glazing", produces the vividly brilliant, transparent colors  her work is known for.  A master at her craft for over 35 years, her paintings in Wildlife, Landscapes, Still Life,  and Florals are sought by collectors world wide.                         Mechanic_-_Zb.jpg

 

 


 

During the warmer months, May through October, I teach "Watercolor Field Study Courses" here in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California where I live, and the local Mojave High Desert, painting the beautiful landscape.

 

I teach:

  • Artistic conception in visual observation
  • The technique of Glazing (numerous, thin color washes) 
  • Color Theory of the "Munsell Hue Circuit" (applying color within colors, rendering results "pleasing to the eye")
